Hanging by a…thread

One of these things is not like the other...

So, I have this skirt that relies pretty heavily on buttons to stay on. In fact, you could say that it relies entirely on buttons. You can already see where I’m going with this. I had barely gotten to work this morning when I noticed that one of the buttons was loose. It didn’t take long for it to come off completely. Being new at my job, I’ve barely got kleenex at my desk, let alone a needle and thread, so I turned to the next best thing.

Yes, a paper clip

One unbent paperclip to the rescue. I bent it through two holes of the button and then pushed it through the skirt and twisted it in the back. Voila!

The back. It wasn't as bad as it looks.

It held quite securely all day, and wasn’t too uncomfortable.

And the front. Hardly noticeable.

  1. Sue Klejeski says:

Sew them all firmly in place before you wear it again. They’re all attached using the same faulty system. (Darned machine-sewn buttons!)
